Mt Sanitas / Dakota Ridge Area (1.05 mi):
- Goat Trails (0.46 mi)
(access from 4th St. to existing Goat Trail)
- Sanitas West (1.11 mi)

Notes:

The Goat Trails on eastern Dakota Ridge are
neighborhood access trails (from 4th St). They are
in a PRA and cross no HSH.

Sanitas West provides an experience of remoteness
close to town. Mt. Sanitas is one of the most popular
destinations in the OSMP system. People are going
to continue to visit this Natural Area, and impact
would be limited by channeling that visitation on a
designated trail. The current alignment might need to
be adjusted to make the trail more sustainable, and
features such as log or stone steps would be helpful.
Other undesignated trails in the area could be closed.
The trail crosses a bunch of Abert’s squirrel HSH.
If a single trail were designated through this area it
would “eliminate” about 5 acres of Abert’s HSH, out
of a total of more that 700 acres.
